5 Day Intensive - Metalsmithing
Come immerse yourself in the art of metalsmithing and spend a week in the Musa Mundi workshop. In 5 days you’ll learn a variety of techniques to get you started on your jewellery making journey. Metalsmithing is a complex practice, each technique is a world of its own to be studied over years. In this 5 day intensive, you’ll come away with 4-5 pieces of jewellery and the confidence to ease into a metalsmithing hobby.

This is not a group learning environment, but rather a side by side learning experience where you’ll have an available tutor seated next to you as you work, available to guide you and share continuous tips and industry knowledge.
COME AS YOU ARE
We’ll provide everything from wax, tools and silver, just wear comfortable clothes fit for a workshop like old jeans and natural fibres.
BEGINNER FRIENDLY
This course is ideal for beginners who have a curiosity for metalsmithing and would like to get a taste of this very complex practice. You don’t need any prior jewellery making experience and will be supported at each step of the way.
DURATION
The course runs over 5 days, we begin each morning at 10am and work until 2pm with a small break in the middle. We recommend you spend the rest of the day indulging your inner artist by visiting local galleries and boutique jewellers or even just enjoying Sant Antoni - the charming neighbourhood of our workshop.
YOUR TUTOR
Hey, I’m Lyd and I’ve been making jewellery for ten years. My teaching style is relaxed and warm, however I also want to empower you to get confident with the craft and connect with your inner artist. You can expect thorough explanations, patience and enthusiasm to share the craft. I hope you’ll feel welcome in the space and I’m sure you’ll go away feeling happy and inspired. :)

Ven a sumergirte en el arte de la orfebrería y pasa una semana en el taller de Musa Mundi. Durante 5 días aprenderás diferentes técnicas que te darán una primera base para comenzar tu camino en el mundo de la joyería.
La orfebrería es una práctica compleja: cada técnica es un mundo en sí mismo que puede estudiarse durante años. En este curso intensivo de 5 días, crearás entre 4 y 5 piezas de joyería y adquirirás la confianza necesaria para iniciarte en la orfebrería como afición.

No se trata de un curso en grupo al uso, sino de una experiencia de aprendizaje codo con codo. Tendrás a tu profesora sentada a tu lado mientras trabajas, disponible para guiarte, resolver tus dudas y compartir contigo consejos continuos y conocimientos del sector.
VEN TAL Y COMO ERES
Nosotros proporcionaremos todo lo necesario: cera, herramientas y plata. Solo tienes que llevar ropa cómoda y adecuada para un taller, como unos vaqueros viejos y prendas de fibras naturales.
IDEAL PARA PRINCIPIANTES
Este curso es ideal para principiantes con curiosidad por la orfebrería y ganas de conocer de cerca esta práctica tan compleja. No necesitas tener experiencia previa en joyería: te acompañaremos y ayudaremos en cada paso del proceso.
DURACIÓN
El curso se desarrolla durante 5 días. Cada mañana empezamos a las 10h y trabajamos hasta las 14h, con una pequeña pausa a mitad de la sesión.
Te recomendamos aprovechar el resto del día para alimentar tu lado creativo visitando galerías locales y joyerías boutique, o simplemente disfrutando de Sant Antoni, el encantador barrio donde se encuentra nuestro taller.
